What we publish, and what makes us change a page.
Two kinds of thing appear here. Nodes are the course: each explains one mechanism of business banking and stays current. Duels are shorter pieces that put two providers against a single job and score them on published data.
Every revision, with the reason.
A number that moved is a story in itself. When a source updates we change the page and record what changed rather than quietly overwriting it.
Ipsos published the round covering July 2025 to June 2026. Every score on the site was retyped from the new file, and node 1 gained a comparison against the February round. Largest movement: Santander down six, HSBC up five.
We had been working from £85,000, the figure in force until 30 November 2025. Every mention was corrected and node 5 now opens on the change, because most published guidance still quotes the old number.
A claim about the number of tariff changes in a year, and a saving figure of £1,200, were both cut. Neither could be traced to a source we would publish. The saving is now stated as the arithmetic difference between two named tariffs, £462 at £4,000 a month.
Publishing dates.
Dates slip when a source does not answer. Where that happens we say so on the day rather than quietly moving the date.
How a topic gets chosen
Something has to be both decidable and unpublished. If an answer already exists in plain form on a regulator's site, we link it rather than rewriting it. What we work on is the gap: a document that exists but is unreadable, a number nobody has applied to a real business, or a rule that everybody states wrongly.
Reader questions jump the queue. The safe deposit node exists because three people asked the same thing in a fortnight.
When we take something down
If a figure turns out to be wrong we correct it in place and log it above. If a whole piece rests on a source that has been withdrawn, the piece comes down and the change log says why.
Nothing here is deleted quietly. A page that vanished without a line in this log would be a mistake, and worth writing to us about.
